From The Scotsman

Swindon agree deal for Ferry and Caddis

By EWING GRAHAME
SWINDON Town last night agreed a fee of £350,000 with Celtic for midfielder Simon Ferry and full-back Paul Caddis.

Caddis, 22, made 24 appearances for the first team at Parkhead, making his home debut when he marked Ronaldinho when Barcelona came to Glasgow in the last 16 of the Champions League in February, 2008. He also had a spell on loan with Dundee United last year.

Ferry, also 22, has been at Parkhead since 2005 but injuries saw him sidelined for nearly three years.

He failed to make the first team but spent last season on loan at Swindon, making 46 appearances for them, including the League One play-off final defeat to Millwall at Wembley.

They'll join former Celts Scott Cuthbert and Jon-Paul McGovern at the County Ground.

Swindon had earlier seen a second bid for the pair rejected.

This is very good news...whatever other positions need strengthening.  We know all about Ferry and how important he was last season, and I confidently predict that Caddis will become a star.

Firstly I hope this is true.

Secondly I hope there is no issues with personal terms.

At this moment in time does that mean Caddis right and JPM left?

could be dave, jp could do a pretty decent job on the left i reckon, he doesnt beat his man too often so would be cracking cutting back inside.

with the addition of ferry and caddis this means we can play so many more systems and have some decent ball players ultimatley on the bench to come on and change a game

A five man midfield with douglas guarding the back4 and caddis, ferry, prutton, mcgovern, could be our away from home strategy with austin as the lone striker

Encouraging words, I imagine personal terms would have been discussed already so if the two could could kindly fast track their decisions that would be lovely.

Great bit of work done by the club bringing these two to swindon  Cool

BBC Radio revealed we put in a bid for Matt Ritchie yesterday but now we get Ferry & Caddis i don't know how much of a priority this will be now.

This makes me all anxious. I want to see scarves. I was thinking last night, that if we were to get Matt Richie as well, we'd be so close to a very versatile and complete team.

GK: Lukas, Smith
LB: Rose, Richie, KLF, Caddis
CB: Cuthbert, Morrison, LJF, Evans (looks bare)
RB: Amankwaah, Caddis, Cuthbert
LM: O'Brien, Richie, Ball, Timlin, Caddis, JPM, Bodin
CM: Dougie, Ferry, Prutton, Timlin, JPM, Richie, Caddis
RM: JPM, Caddis, Ball, Prutton
ST: Austin, Peri, Ball, Bodin

We'll be able to cover lots of positions with a quite small squad. It does Look like we need a striker and a centre half, or if we aren't trying to get Richie, a left midfielder as well.
