Strange for me as I thought he was going to try and stay at Motherwell after his good spell there.

I wouldn't have thought so, unless it's a higher figure than Everton paid us, which I very much doubt.

Championship football is a better quality than the SPL.

Elsewhere, former Swindon Town striker Lukas Jutkiewicz has joined Championship side Coventry City for an undisclosed fee from Everton.

Town have confirmed the club have “not benefited financially” from this deal.
