Hi there, Nottingham Forest supporter here in peace, thanks to Admin for allowing me to post.

I am just after some advice on where to go/avoid next Saturday when we come down for the match, kid friendly would be ideal as I have 2 under 16's with me, also parking advice.

I have a feeling we will bring around 2,000 down and expect a tough game against a talented side, it should be a great game of football.

Let me take this opportunity to wish you all the best for the coming season and thanks in advance for any advice.

(hope you get Oxford in a cup and stuff em)

Parking - the cricket club behind the main stand is a good bet, but there's also plenty of street parking within a 10 minute walk, and it shouldn't busy

I'd go to the Swindon Mela in old town gardens. Parking can be bit tricky but it was worth it last year.

If you insist on going to the football then I think parking has been covered. If you see the derelict shop called Charlie Brown's (just down the road from the County Ground) avoid parking there. There have been incidents of peoples cars being loaded onto a truck by **** car park clampers. Same applies for the 'transfer bridges' (railway) right near by. I know these names mean nothing to you but you'll work it out if you see it. There are signs but they are pretty small.

As for "where to go/avoid" are you thinking pubs/food or what? For fast food there is a Burger King/McDonalds nearby or if that isn't to your taste let us know and we'll see if we can direct you somewhere else. For kid friendly pubs I guess I'll leave that for someone else to answer.

If this map works:

http://streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=415922&y=185078&z=110&sv=415922,185078&st=4&ar=y&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf&dn=702&ax=415922&ay=185078&lm=0

County ground is about where the arrow is.

Access to the cricket club parking is off county road, on the left just past Manchester road turning (a sort of mini roundabout) if heading south down County road

Burger King is on the bit marked A4529 to the south east of the ground. Its literally just across the road and I think there is a chip shop near there too.

McDonalds is on the Great Western Way, north of the map, to the east of Cirencester way

Charlie Browns and the transfer bridges - follow County Road from the club to the first roundabout. See the "OW", Charlie Browns is about where the W is. The transfer bridges are the small spur just above the O (the map doesn't show it well). Don't park there.

Does it let kids in though? I'm sure they never used to but I rarely drink there anymore

If you get down earlyish, 1:30-2:00, the fire station is open for match day parking, literally just opposite the ground, google it for postcode, opposite the road is a great chippy!, Merlin is away fan friendly and is just up the road from the fire station, away from the CG. Avoid the County Ground Hotel which is behind the Town End, (In the Car Park) - You won't miss it when you arrive. Parking in the ground is also fine, but in the season they charge £10, not sure about pre-season. The Cricket pitch is also ok if you dont mind a wait comming out. Hope i helped!

Alternatively stfc are holding an open day before the game so that may give you something to do if you arrive early enough

Judging by the way most Forest supporters are throwing their toys out of the playpen I think there will be very few of us there saturday.

There are some right miserable twats complaining all the damn time about the lack of signings

Piss poor excuse not to go.
