Can't see it mentioned elsewhere, but saw on the local news last night that Bristol City's new stadium plans look to have gone tits up.

It just goes to show the power of local councils. I know our situation is different to theirs but you can't help but wonder if there will be a spanner in our works.

Yea interesting report.  According to the local BBC Points West news, Lib Dem local councillors defied party orders and voted against the sainsburys option.  Too many small local businesses will be effected and the 4 councillors came down on the side of the locals.

BBC called Lansdown on his hols in Kenya. Totally pissed off.  He accused the council of being small minded, not wanting a world class stadium and why was it that everytime someone tried to do something to improve Bristol the Council blocked it.

Lansdown even asked why he bothered and was it really worth it!!!

Oh dear, how sad, never mind!!

Not if we do our prep work properly, which I think we have been. Another interesting facet of the problems facing SlaveTraderStad is that this is yet another development being largely funded by Sainsbury's - they pretty much own Southend should they choose to call in the bills from funding their successive failures pending getting permission for their ground development. Football clubs moving location often proves difficult, as our former boards experienced. Hopefully the fact that we're not relocating will work in our favour.

I'm not sure that's such a good thing. The Brizzle bid has impacts on STFC too.

There will probably be a rare species of Michael Pook which will cause years of grief before relocating to somewhere in Gloucestershire.
