Is it illegal to tow a car by rope? My dad thinks it is, i have no idea, i've tried to find out on the net but cant find a definitive answer,

my old heap of shit, just taking it to the rents, as im on residential parking, and need to move my permit over to my new car and at the moment im wasting visitors permits everyday my break down doesnt cover home start

Isn't a mile from home that it doesn't cover? Get a couple of mates to push it- job done.

Oh I forgot to say, I'm pretty sure there are rules on how heavy you can tow with depending on when you got your license.
Also, if the other car isn't taxed/MOTd then it may be a problem.

are you saying, i shuoldnt be the one steering it when its being towed? and its taxed and mot'd so no problem there
