Well, Blatter can't ignore it now. Not if Wilson wants it

Don't worry, Blatter's apologized. I'm sure he'll look into it in the most full and transparent manner possible and make a reasonable decision based on the available evidence.

Utterly irrelevant. As is "being tired". We lost because we were shit and the players aren't nearly as good as they think they are

I know I'm just very wary the media will let the shiftless bastards off the hook again by blaming the manager/ref/climate/vuvuzelas/BP

The officials will be blacklisted by FIFA for a few months and told to think about what he's done.

I'm probably in the minority nowadays but I'm still not keen of goal line technology... I'm a sucker for a bit of skullduggery.

All this talk of goal line technology is just masking the real issue - the referee made a terrible mistake, which simply shouldn't happen at this level. I'm not sure any technology will ever guard you fully against an incompetent referee.

Well, it's the linesman's job to call it, so I'm not sure what it has to do with the referee.

I like the clip they have on the article, as the commentary says it all.

"Lampaaaaaard....Brilliant!(?)"
"It was in!"
"Goal!"
"That surely crossed the line? It's not been given. Surely that was in?!"

Everybody knew it was a goal. Capello saw it from the half way line, and the whole crowd were celebrating it, then booed in unison at the next break of play. It was just so obvious. Obviously you cannot excuse England's second half performance, but nobody can say the outcome (a Germany win) would have definitely been the same had it become 2-2. The psychology of the game would have been totally different. It's our fault we went out as we defended like clowns and didn't make the most of our chances in the 2nd half, but we shouldn't have had to leave ourelves exposed to counter attacks pushing for an equaliser.

The referee was closer and it didn't look like his view was restricted.

I still say it's very hard for a referee to overrule a linesman on a goalline decision...

As they said on tv, the ref was within 5 yards of Lampard, and Frank knew it was in.
