Walsall fans seemed to rate him (Holmes) really highly. Can't remember if it was last season or the one before he was with them.

Season before last.
They won 3-0 here and Holmes scored a free kick.

Leeds fan view on Prutton:
"He's a great player when he's wanted. Tireless engine, passes it well, chips in with goals, some spectacular. Sad to see him go,and why Grayson saw Doyle as a better option i'll never know. Also he is more than capable of playing on the right wing, and had his best games for us out there.
Class player in L1"
Nice.

IIRC Smith's positioning for that goal was terrible. He also scored another one as well that game.

I am curious as to how Prutton has ended up in League One. Does he have a bad reputation behind-the-scenes? Did his discipline problems at Southampton sort of ruin him (the 10 match ban in 2004) Why are Colchester, Brighton and Swindon the only clubs firmly rumoured to him if he's that good?
He's not that good. Lovely bloke, great with the fans and great moral-booster in the dressing room. He's not that bothered, to be honest - knows he can't cut it at a higher level, and seems happy enough to play in the lower leagues. Tells lots of jokes, looks like Jesus. A magnet for 'silly' yellow cards. Is in love with Jonathon Douglas, will always do the pre-match warm-up together. I'd (naively) like to think there are players out there like Prutton who earn their crust by putting in sturdy performances and helping a team's cause consistently rather than cashing in on one or two seasons of glory, only to disappear into oblivion soon after.

I think that if he's willing to sign for us, then he obviously lacks ambition, and hence, we should give him a miss.

In fact, any player who wants to sign for us has to be, by defininition, crap!

Anyone getting slightly concerned that Jesus was having his medical yesterday and the official site has just been updated with three new stories, and no mention of the medical / signing?
