Whoops, forgot about O'Brien then - provided he can avoid injuries I reckon he could do a good job for us. We really need to have faith in Wilson as he hasn't fucked up that many signings.

If that's all it was then I wouldn't have paid it any attention. It was only when someone on here said that it was mentioned on the local radio today that my ears perked up. I just heard the latest bulletin and they said "......set to make their first signing of the summer......" I'm fairly certain that they only say things like that when it's almost signed & sealed. They don't get involved when it's just idle gossip.

You have a point about the Radio there. Fingers crossed. Smiley

I wonder if DW is considering a three man midfield, Douglas and Prutton with McGovern slightly ahead (his fave position) Austin upfront on his own with a couple of wingers?

If he signs i'd be surprised if Timlin and Easton stay.

Guess it means Ferry is not returning

I wouldn't have thought so, I think it would still be 4-4-2 with Austin & Pericard/New Striker upfront with McGovern on the right wing as usual.

We might sign Ferry as well and that would mean Timlin & Easton wouldn't get a game unless we had injuries so i can see those two rejecting our contract offer and going somewhere else for first team football.

Yup, needs a good pre-season and avoid any more hamstring injuries. Reckon if he can stay fit and get some decent game time that he could be a real threat. Wasn't the sharpest when he started to make some appearances towards the end of the season but there were enough glimpses to convince me that he could be dangerous.

As much as i'd love to see us sign Prutton, it still wouldn't resolve our lack of goals from the midfield.

Nevertheless, how about a midfield of:

Hal Robson Kanu    Dougie    Prutton    JPM

Now i'm only speculating, but HRK on a season long loan or a perminant deal would be pretty ace, unless he's signed elsewhere or is in Reading's 1st team plans....................
What's Lee Holmes up to these days? All's gone a bit quiet on him of late...Shame that, as he was a revelation when he was here.

Let's give him the benefit of doubt. Some people genuinely cannot spell fore letter words.

What's with a fascination with Lee Holmes? He hasn't lived up to the hype and injuries have killed the pace he once had.

No fascination here. Just wandering where he was at. Shame about the injuries
