I am curious as to how Prutton has ended up in League One. Does he have a bad reputation behind-the-scenes? Did his discipline problems at Southampton sort of ruin him (the 10 match ban in 2004) Why are Colchester, Brighton and Swindon the only clubs firmly rumoured to him if he's that good?

Broke a bone in his foot a few years back,Rooney like injury and seemed to set him back, anyone who plays 25 times for the England U21,s isn,t that bad...should be in his prime now.

I mentioned his promise earlier. He was considered a cert for England full caps when he was at Forest.

What's his contract situation then? Colchester only signed him a few months ago. Did they only sign him until the end of the season?

Yeah he was only signed by them until the end of last season. He's a free agent at present

Millwall fan on FF saying's he's absolute shit now and past his best and that his Colchester supporting mate says the same thing, Mmmmm that's why John Ward desperately wants to keep hold of him stupid prick! I bet it's Stuwall. Grin

Why do I need the opinion of a Millwall fan RE: Prutton? Christ, his background would leave most Millwall fans salivating.

Mind you, doesn't his and Franck Quedrue's arrival at Colchester coincide with the dip that ruined their season?

Prutton's first six games for Colchester saw 5 wins and 1 draw and he scored twice. Then it turned to shit.

McGovern, Prutton, Douglas and a decent left winger = one of the best midfield's in the division.

Make it happen Wilson.

Agreed, Prutton along with a quality left winger and we would have a midfield other league 1 clubs would be envious of, Only problem would be lack of pace in that midfield unless we bring in a pacey left winger, No doubt about the quality in that midfield though.

Yeah agree with that. Pace is lacking a bit but McGovern's industry more than makes up for him not being the quickest.

Douglas and Prutton playing ahead of Cutbert and Greer is an exciting prospect.

As well as a left winger you'd really want Ferry and a right winger (unless Macklin steps up) in addition to Prutton. Then you've got a strong midfield and options - which is one thing we were really missing last season.
