I don't think people are complaining because the noise is different, more that it's bloody tedious and annoying.

Drums are part of our football culture, yet most of us complain about the noise they make too - because they're monotonous and annoying not because they are different to what we're used to.

But yeah, if the people that don't mind them want to make up arguments about not accepting a different atmosphere then let them.

I'm still going to watch as many games as I can with or without the vuvuzelas, because whilst I find them irritating I'm watching the world cup primarily to see the football*

Only ribbing you. Sounds good to me!

Ha, well.. you've found a chink in my armour... It's alright, I kinda expected more of myself and the lack of mental stimulation has created great anger and resentment towards this place over the years. The job is ok, I just hate the building and management.

Which nobody has really ever disputed. Some of us just want to express our disdain at the awful noise they create. Moaning is part of the British culture after all.

So far from what I've seen, which tbf isn't that many games, the totty count has been poor, like much of the football.

The ubiquitous vuvuzela sems to make it difficult for fans to establish an identity....like today where were the Dutch bands....admittedly only saw highlights.

Earlier, were there any Loony Roon witch doctors?  Japs chanting in slightly alarming serried ranks. etc etc zzzzzzz

Which means nothing. It's even annoying the players and officials. Tbh they need to be banned.

Van Persie could have been sent off today for kicking the ball away, and he arguably got away with it because of his claims that he didn't hear the ref's whistle when he kicked the ball away because of the vuvuzelas.

Ok, so he got away with it because the ref bottled it, but the argument shouldn't even be there. If players are allowed to claim they can't hear the ref's whistle over the vuvuzelas then they shouldn't be there.

I'm over it now. Sure it's annoying but I'm drowning it out now. Either that or I'm going deaf...
