It looks like this guy was taught to drive by F1 driver Romain Grosjean.

Belgian international footballer Jonathan Legear has said he was "only slightly" over the drink-drive limit after crashing his car into a petrol station.

CCTV footage shows Legear's Porsche ploughing into an Esso forecourt shop at around 5.30am on Sunday.

The incident occurred in the Flanders town of Tongeren, where Legear - capped twice by his country in 2010 - was spending the weekend having not been selected by his Russian club Terek Grozny.

Legear is reported to have accidentally pressed the accelerator pedal instead of the brake, sending his car through a glass door into the shop, sending an estimated 1,000 cans of drink flying.

Amazingly only one man, a 21-year-old from Tongeren, suffered minor injuries, however Legear caused significant damage.

An Esso spokesperson said: "The pump automisation has been destroyed. We estimate the amount of damage between 250,000 and 300,000 euros.

"He said he would repay all the damage. Apparently he was returning from a night out."

Legear has apologised for the crash, saying in a statement: "I am thinking particularly of those present at the time of the accident and those who could be affected at any level. I have already asked by advisors to contact them.

"I accept the consequences of the accident under the law.

"Contrary to the judgment already made by some media, I was not in a state of deep intoxication and my blood alcohol level was only slightly above the legal limit."

Police seized the 25-year-old's licence pending a judicial investigation into the incident.

In 2009, Legear was sentenced to 50 hours of community service after crashing his BMWX5 into a house returning from a night out.

So today I had my final outcome meeting at work.  Along with several colleagues I was offered a lower grade role on exactly the same salary.  I and the others queried this a number of times because there is quite a difference in the two salary bands and normally you have a phased reduction of salary over a period of time.  No this is definitely correct we're told and marvellous we all think.  2 hours later it turns out that the twat in charge of the restructure has looked at the wrong pay band for the new role, so actually if we take it, it will be a £10,000 pay reduction.

At an already stressful time, it's completely laughable that incorrect information like this is given to us.  The words piss up and brewery spring to mind and I won't be taking the role.

Sad

Not what you want, but I suppose not being booted outright is a kind of compliment. Unless you see it as an underhand way to force you out without redundancy pay.

That sucks. Be careful how you proceed - they might try to make a case that they have made you as reasonable offer as a way of avoiding paying redundancy.

No, because it's a lower grade it's only classed as an alternative which I can refuse without affecting redundancy. However, they've now got 10 weeks to pull a 'suitable alternative' out of the bag which I would either have to take or resign.

I would have loved to.  He was however met with a high level of hostility when he attempted to speak to a few of us later in the day and departed quite quickly.

The "Suitable alternative" I was offered by the Council when I was going through this was £16k less than my previous earnings.

To change the subject with an aside:

SBCs claim have the first LTE network up and running in Swindon. Its not exactly untrue, but its application isn't going to be useful to most of us. Still its interesting listening to the media struggle with it all.

You seem to get a lot of necks but your neck-to-bang conversion seems very poor.

Try harder
