Sounds like a Druryism. I saw he was commentating and was pleased to have missed it. I can't stand his rehearsed sound bites.

Cringeworthy stuff, his awful rehearsed introductions to matches, and sound bites at particular moments in the match are a pet hate of mine.

Couldn't agree more, I hate Peter Drury. He doesn't commentate, he thinks he's a wordsmith charged with filling two 45 minute segments of telly with his linguistic artistry.

The truth is, he has a pad of paper filled with his cheesy, corny and cringey one liners that he then reads in his annoying, patronising and self-righteous tone.

When America lost in the World Cup: "Bye, bye big America, Sigh." 'Nuff said.

Talking of phones, Vodafone are being a bunch of cunts. Daughters payg phone has had problems for a while, went in for repairs in May and came back fixed. Same problems returned a month later and in it went again, only this time they are saying it is due to water damage.
My arguement is that the returning faults can't be due to water as it's the same fault they fixed and they clearly stated in the letter when it was returned first time that it was given a "full internal service"

All my complaints and arguing has got me knowhere and they won't budge. The cunts!
It was only a £60 phone but they won't give me anything.
I've been in the shop, phoned them and sent e-mails but got nowhere.

Don't give up.  It took me six months to get some money back from Virgin (travel stuff), and I know they gave me the money just so I'd sod off and leave them alone.  Keep buggering on.  And good luck.

Talk to the CAB if you have time, maybe that'll help them reconsider.

I've got a contract with them as does the mrs and my son. Being a customer for a decade and threatening to leave didn't work.
Their e-mail complaints system is a joke and they didn't even reply with anything regarding what i had stated to them.

Aint it a nightmare getting to talk to anyone at the CAB? Waiting lists etc?
This is the first time i've not got anything when making a complaint to a company. That alone frustrates me.(actually they offered me £10 credit on my account which i refused)
Been loads of fucking ball ache for the sake of a £60 phone. I don't give up easily but have had enough of this one

Having recently tried to complain to Vodafone, I concur they're a bunch of cunts. Just got a vague email back with no apology at all and just a load of corporate bullshit.

I've never understood why call centre/customer service workers feel the need to defend their employer to such an extent that they can't even say sorry, even when the company are at fault. Well, I do, it's because these people are never given the training, justification or authority to resolve complaints themselves. This is something where British business can definitely learn from American culture.
