Something I can't explain and I cannot be arsed to look it up is why yawning in infectious.
You could have a room of people, one person yawns and generates a Mexican Yawn type effect.
Anyone care to enlighten me?

No word of a lie - but that post just made me yawn. (And I'm not in any way implying you're dull, by the way. I really did yawn.)

Ah ha! So not just the sight of someone yawning, but the mere mention of a yawn puts the idea in your head and tricks you into yawning. That's devious.

Seems to be a couple of main theories on yawns being contagious... This applies only to group/troupe animals. It supplies a method for the most sleepy to forcefully communicate their need for rest and thus ensures that the group rests/sleeps together. If you accept the theory that yawning is related to breathing, as a means to either redistribute lung surfactant or to temporarily increase air intake, it may be that watching someone yawn triggers a subconcious concern about one's own ability to breathe, hence mimicking the yawn. http://www.guardian.co.uk/notesandqueries/query/0,,-70784,00.html

I read about it ages ago and recall their being no definitive conclusion as to why yawning is contagious. I also won't pretend i know or have scoured the internet to fill me with reasons. This looks about as accurate as it comes though. Within reason. - It is a protective mechanism to make a group more alert
- Or, it's a form of herding behaviour
- Or a means of communicating sleeping times

That's not him angry, it's him mildly annoyed
I forgot to mention Marks & Spencers. Why is it that when you nip in there for either a lunchtime sandwich or to get something nice for dinner, there are always hordes of fucking old people either stood around talking to each other about fuck all, or dithering and dribbling at the checkout because "I've got the right money in here somewhere dear"... For fucks sake, they might have all day now that their husband or wife has been dead for fucking eons, but I fucking don't!! Piss soaked fucking coffin dodgers. Knowing my luck, I'll have a fucking coach load of em' sat in front of me on Saturday...

Anyway how much leeway do you give someone? John did a shit in the urinal instead of the toilet, but it's ok because he's dyslexic.
