A special mention for the new Bruce Street bridges thing. I know it's not complete, but at the moment SBC's traffic savants have rendered Rodbourne/Outlet villages exits tantamount to unusable and Rodbourne spends much of the day worse than it used to be at rush hour. That's quite some achievement. Clap

Never underestimate the ability of SBC to fuck stuff up. Recently, I've been impressed by the decision to spend 10K, on painting boarded up shops in town, to look like functioning retail outlets.

Could they be persuaded to act on Gazza's idea of building a wall around the CG, to make it look like a smart redevelopment?

It'll be the third instalment in the 'terrible junction trilogy', following on from the Whalebridge disaster and the Regent Circus 'shared space' fuck up.

In rush hour the traffic gets backed up right by my house. Which would be fine if I lived in Rodbourne, but I live in town. The worst I've seen it was last week when it was backed up to Manchester road, nearly 2 miles of traffic.

That's fucking crazy. SBC are a fucking joke. Obviously once they've finished it, made bus only exits and installed lights all over it, it'll be absolutely fantastic.

Ah, but you see it's not a pay rise. All the reduction to fund the, so-called, "pay rise" all happened before the last election. In fact MP's are currently about 10% worse off. And besides, if these MPs can't stand up for their own paying conditions, how can us constituents have any confidence that they'll stand up for us?

Look these MPs have been on their knees for a long time. It's good to see them finally getting off their knees to receive some money after all their hardship.

MPs getting a 10% pay rise.

Once upon a time MP's were not paid a salary, but rather expenses, then they got a salary and expenses, which led to the disgraceful situation of the final Tory years of the 20th Century.

The thinking behind this is that, it's easier to keep track of what they get, if it's mostly in a salary. They also now get a credit card.....IDS recently had his suspended for excessive spending....

Still only to be expected from a fella, who used to claim expenses from the taxpayer for his underpants when Leader of the Opposition.

Thats the only reason some have said they wont be taking the payrise. They will hope people are thick enough to think they are taking the moral ground, when all they really want is to keep their noses in the expenses trough.
