The whole reason we're wearing the white kit is because the ref will be wearing the red kit on the day, so we didn't want any clashes.

One of the Millwall fans on that forum made the same point that occured to me...if there are any 50/50 decisions, Webster will need to be very careful not to be seen to favour us.

If it is true that he has Swindon/Wootton Bassett connections, I'd rather he was replaced.

Like that Millwall thread and Ardiles say, I see this as a negative. I'd prefer a neutral. Can't see how this will be a benefit to us as he's a professional and i can only see him leaning towards Millwall in many situations so as to not look biased.

Perhaps he is part of a huge family with 6 or 7 brothers and sisters which could mean that he has up to 20+ nephews and nieces and they could be spread all over the country even close to Millwall maybe?

Just a possibility, I wouldn't read anything into it at all.

He himself is not from Swindon or live in or around Swindon....so no clash of interests at all IMO.

What youve got to remember is that all the referees are professional and impartial and dont take any sides during the match.

Yeah whatever...

Fuck it, I'd love a Swindon biased ref. Then maybe when the Millwall centre backs use Paynter as a ladder, or get him in a headlock the free kick might be given to us instead of against us!

I think the most astonishing revelation in this post is not the family connections, actually. Tell us, is "Coline" pre- or post-op?

What we really need is David Elleray out of retirement!

(Pointless, yet surprising, fact: he was only 38 years old when he reffed our last game at Wembley in 1993.)
