Why does everyone in the adver have to "insist" things rather than just "say" them?

Why does everyone in the adver have to "insist" things rather than just "say" them?
I've ranted about that before. Drives me potty. I think it goes back to the old creative writing courses where your English teacher would berate you if you wrote a story that had loads of "He said, I said" etc. So they can no longer bring themselves to use the word "say" even when it's the most appropriate. Ditto for "relish" - players are always "relishing" things, apparently |
