Nothing really unexpected, but seeing it in black and white shows how completely screwed up top flight football is, absolute madness.

A couple of grand?! Our top earners are on no more than £5k. I'd be surprised if it was as high as that to be honest.

A few observations...
- for an 'official' document all these figures look suspiciously nice and round, e.g. 10k a week, 5k a week, not £10,433 a week - are we sure this isnt compiled by some mates up a pub ? - How can Zola earn less than some players, that is crazy - We all knew the players/managers etc are on crazy money, but there is noone on here less than 100k a year.....look at the gk coach for example, on £156k a year or thereabouts, thats more than the prime minister, all politcians, doctors, dentists, most MD's etc. Wrong, surely...

Mido - £1,000
He took a massive pay cut to join West Ham. Think he was on £70k before.

600k a year for an assistant coach? I bet this guy can believe his luck every morning he wakes up. I know the old adage is that 'you are worth what someone will pay you' , but surely 600k for an assisntant coach doenst represent good value? 600k must put him in the top 0.35% or something earners in the country, along with people who run multi national compaines..its just fucking wrong.

From WHU...
West Ham United can confirm the newspaper article published this morning in the Daily Star, relating to alleged player and staff wages is not based on any club document, the figures contained within it are totally inaccurate and the document is a hoax.
The Daily Star made no attempt to validate the document with the club prior to publishing it. The club would also like to state that it would never disclose such confidential information in the public domain.
West Ham United will make no further comment with the matter now in the hands of the clubıs lawyers and the Press Complaints Commission.
