For some reason I feel more confident that we can a get a result next week than if we were sat in 2nd?  The pressure is massively on Leeds now and if they don't score early on, their fans will turn on the team, which could have the adverse effect. There's also going to be far more pressure on Millwall than us as well. How sweet it would be for little old Swindon to just quietly nip them both at the post!

Aggggh. aagggh my head. Stop fucking with it.

So......

Leeds win - they are up.
Leeds don't win, Swindon or Millwall win - the winners are up.
Leeds lose, Millwall v Swindon draw - Charlton win, they are up.
Leeds lose, Charlton don't win, Millwall v Swindon draw, Huddersfield win by 4 clear goals they are up unless there are freakish high scoring games in the Leeds/MillWall games.

I think. Aaagh  my head. I was settling in for the playoffs and this happens.

Furthermore its all academic., Rovers can't possibly get anything at Leeds. Though I said that about Millwall at Tranmere and Leeds at Gills. And then there is the Leeds United effect to take into account...

-------------------

Good game today.Enjoyed it except  all that injury time! Summary - good going forward, let in 2 sloppy goals. REf let too much go. Brentford were OK.

Surely in that situation even if it was a freakishly high scoring Millwall game, it would still have to be a draw - thus no change in goal difference?

Todays game, was alright - we played well in spells and looked very dodgy in other spells. That was probably worse than some of our recent 'draw' performances.

Today, like the last 4 games was all about the result - nothing else mattered.

We did our bit and my fucking god, so did Tranmere and Charlton.

Out of all the teams Leeds could have had, last day of the season Bristol Rovers from our point of view, has to be one of the worst.

I was thinking if the GD was the same then it goes down to goals scored (presumably). Milwall would be on 83 with +31, Uddersield win by 4 - they are 83 with +31, Leeds lose by 1....you get the idea.

If by that you mean that Rovers are mid-table with nothing to play for, I see your point.  (But that doesn't concern me too much, given Leeds' ability/propensity to screw up when it really matters.)

But if you mean that Rovers will not be looking to do us any favours because of the local rivalry, I disagree.  Without looking at their squad list, I'd hazard a guess that most of their players grew up some distance from north Bristol and probably don't know the words to that stupid Irene song.  (Or is it Ethel?)  Your average Rovers player will care no more about us than they do about Oldham or Hartlepool.

Trollops a town fan, so Rovers will be well up for it. Leeds will choke and lose 4-0.

Millwall will race into a 3-0 lead after half an hour, fans will invade the pitch causing the match to be abandoned and the win given to us by default. Happy days

What a day it's been. Thought we deserved the win. We were electric in the first 20. Brentford couldn't get near us and when Billy scored you thought it was going to be plain sailing. Sadly we let our foot off the gas and let them come at us. They built up some pressure and we defended poorly thus resulting in them getting the equaliser. But we kept at it and got the 2 goals. Great cross for all 3 of the goals today and the cross from Nouble for the 3rd was the only decent thing he did. Wasn't impressed with him today. Those last 10 minutes were bloody nerve racking especially when Brentford missed that sitter at the end.

So onto the last day. Wilson always said it would go down to the last day and it has. So for next week come on Town! We can do it. And come on Bristol Rovers. It's all getting very exciting.

Thought we played well against a decent outfit and scored 3 of our better goals of the season. JP was outstanding, and clear MOTM for my money. Ward and Paynter both excellent. Darby had his best game for us, and seems to be slowly getting the hang of the overlapping thing. I wish Kev was in the team, but clearly playing him at Millwall would be a bad idea.

The 3 who came in didn't really do enough for me. Easton is ok, adequate cover, but without Ferry's energy we struggled to get a real grip of the midfield, which put more pressure on the creaking defence. Maybe giving Cuthbert a week off was a good idea, but JFL is not in the same league and his concentration levels simply have to improve. He did well against Southampton, but their threat was aerial. Brentford did more on the deck, and he didn't like it. Nouble put in a peach of a cross for goal 3, but a more consistent threat is needed.

Due to the Championship finishing tomorrow, and the Prem finishing next Sunday, Soccer Saturday will be just covering League One games next Saturday, and in the build up.

It will make a change to listening to them talking about Premier shit.

And league 2. Still plenty going on down there as well. Going to be a good day in the pub watching.

What a day. Every result went our way today. The next week is going to be hell, but as others have said at least the pressure is off us, it's Leeds and Millwalls to lose now.

Good performance today, a bit sloppy at the back for the goals but attacked really well, the move for the first goal was fantastic. I also thought Easton had a good game. Cant wait for next saturday, i would love for us to be ignored all week and then sneak into 2nd place.

The only grumble i would have is some twats at the back of the DRS singing 'we hate millwall scum'

A random thought...

If Southamton didnt have a 10 point deduction, there would be 6 teams in with a shout of 2nd on the final day and nobody bar Leeds (because us and Millwall play each other) would even be sure of being in the play offs!

Thought nouble was cack today...not sure he has anything to contribute from here on in. Bar the cross for the third, dont recall him doing anything (whereas CA seemed to be in the mix as soon as he came on). In his post match interview DW said nouble showed some moments of magic today...err, when was that then?
Agree with the comments above about JLF, its his few moments of madnes which scare me.
But onto positives.....Douglas sensational today, conducted everything, and Ward is just loving his footall at the mo, paynter looking dangerous, ditto JPM (great cros field ball for first)....could go on and on with superlatives but cant be arsed....even Darby had a better game today...

Fantastic going into next week with nothing to lose and everything to gain. Agree with Langers, not that I expect it at all it would be great to sneak in under the noses of wall and lids...would be the proverbial bird to Radio 5, for example, who give the impression that Leeds are the only team in League one.
But saying that though, looking forward to the play offs in a perverse kind of way.
Also, bought the 69 er today...good stuff.
Finally, hope brentford player is ok, and its just concussion or similar.

Didn't arrive till about 2.15, nightmare trip up, hit two bad bits of traffic Downton and Marlborough

Entertaining game, after the first one went in thought it was going to be plain sailing, but to be fair Brentford came back into it well. My MOM was JPM, Douglas also had a good game along with Wardy. Was surprised to find Charlie on the bench, but he deserves a bit of a rest, tho Charlie was the cause of the late finish with what looked to be a stray elbow to the Brentford defenders head ooops.
Brilliant the way the rest of the results went our way

@Leefer, thanks for the beer m8, will return the favour, hopefully at the home leg of the playoff

Have to agree with jimmy's comments on Nouble, the cross was great but his first touch is abysmal, just seems to bounce off him
