What are the chances Liverpool get drawn against Everton at some point.
That would be mammouth!

It's sad if the champions can't defend their title. Good to see justice has been served

Bollocks!!! Rules are rules, top 4 to qualify, you can go changing the entry requirement just to keep some unemployed scabs happy. You lot sound like whinging Ipswich fans who keep going on about how unfair the play offs are.

Something about an Anglo-Italian Cup Jan If you win the competition, you should automatically qualify, just like the World Cup.

As the french say Si-pie "non". If you're good enough you should be good enough to qualify for it.

If you're good enough you should be able to win it I would be saying the same if some French, Italian or Spanish team won it, or even Man Utd. Guess we would never agree - unless it was Hibs of course

You no longer qualify for the WC by winning it.....I think Brazil wanted the rule change to give them some more meaningful games. A few years ago Real won the Championas League and finished 5th , the Spanish FA kickeed out the 4th placed team.....who were one of the smaller clubs.

Ok cheers for the info Reg!
Must admit chucking the other team out is a big no. I just think a team should have a chance to defend their title that's all.

No, quite often rules are bollocks so your inititial statment with just a little shuffling around would be correct. UEFA, in their utterly crass stupidity in trying to stop Liverpool entering the Champions Leage were devaluing their own competition. You cannot have any competition where the defending Champions do not partake. It is a farce. Just as a footnote, I don't expect this to affect your pathological hatred of Scousers in the slightest, but a mate of mine was a 'group leader' for one of the Liverpool flights out to Istanbul and he said the 'scabby' Liverpool fans were absolutely 'salt of the earth' and were fantastic from start to finish. There was not one single, solitary bit of trouble the whole time.

This s a good compromise......nobody has been kicked out, and nobody loses thier TV money.. Apart from the 4 English teams who qualified and have had to take a reduced cut of TV revenues.
