He went over to New York, saw Richard Hell and the Voidoids and basically told the Pistols 'copy that', thus Nevermind the Bollocks.

A contradiction of a man...hated money apparently but made shit loads of it. As a young man enthralled with British punk i applaud him....RIP.

When i was a little un in Grove my dad organised a "celebrity" football match as part of the grove 6 a side tournament. Loads of celebs there, Malcom Mclaren was the only one who stayed afterwards, he hung about with the kids for a good couple of hours and was a proper gent, then went down the bay tree pub with everyone until he was eventually dragged away by his girlfriend.
RIP.

If it wasn't for Malcolm i'd never have spent my youth wandering round Newbury with blue hair, covered in safety pins, probably the favourite period of my life. RIP Malcolm.

I thought it was the Dolls that inspired all that...I may be wrong, of course.

After the Pistols became a bit infamous they couldn't play many live gigs as the majority of places banned them. What they used to do instead was to book the gigs under pseudonims. There were big rumours they had done thisat the Brunel so a big crowd turned up - inclusing me - hoping to see the Pistols. The original band turned up and got absolutely monstered. I never liked Malcolm McLaren much and punk would have taken off with or without him.

Malcolm Mclaren's funeral takes place today. His family have asked for everybody to take part in ' A minute of mayhem' at midday today. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8632267.stmFollowing this request, this Pistols song would seem to be very appropriate. RIP Malcolm.
