I was chatting about football with a non Town fan today who said,"Wouldn't it be good if Swindon could get to the Championship".I agreed, but had to point out that we had been an established CC side under Macari, Ossie and Hoddle and had won 2 Wembley play-off finals. How quickly people forget.
The last 10 yrs have done so much damage to the name and reputation of STFC.At last we're putting things right on and off the pitch and at such a fast rate.Onwards and upwards!

The first three seasons that I watched saw us as a 'Championship'/Division Two side...so I still tend to think of that as our natural home. Naive/plain wrong...yep. But that's the way I still see it.

Good performance today. Tranmere looked like they may have had one too many beers over the weekend after the Norwich result - aside from the first 5 minutes they just didn't want to play. Bit of a shame we couldn't get more goals for our goal difference but I don't think that would settle a position at this stage. Glad we didn't have to over-exert ourselves and Austin is clearly up to the same fitness levels as the rest of the squad

I started watching Town in 1990 so I also think of us as a 'Championship' side, equal to the likes of Portsmouth, Watford and the like. I guess it's called Leeds Syndrome

Jeez! Keep up will you?? yeah, I know. But my brian (sic) won't accept it. I keep thinking we'll balls it up somehow. But now we have an 11 point gap with 6 to go. And this team seems to want it.

A win next week pretty much confirms play offs as we would have a 14 point gap with 15 to play for

Talk about under the radar. I think we are actually fucking invisible. Great. Norwich 2 - 1 Stockport Grant Holt became the first Norwich player since 1964 to score 30 goals in a season as they beat seemingly-doomed Stockport to close in on promotion...
...But the Canaries sealed their 16th home win of the season when Darel Russell set up Holt, who powered home.
The win keeps Norwich 10 points clear of third-placed Millwall with six games to play. It also ensured that the Canaries have at the very least secured a play-off berth. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/8598501.stm

Surely the ball must have been in play, as a penalty was awarded ? Presumably the ball was in the air.
Right, if the corner hadn't been taken it couldn't have been a foul. The ball would not have been in play, a requirement for a foul. If that had been the case the red card would have been awarded for misconduct with the start of play an indirect free kick where the offense took place. All that said, who gives a fuck, the Tranmere player tried to hurt Charlie.

The flag was waved as soon as Sheehan took his kick. My first thought was he had looped the ball out of play (which would have been clever considering he's left footed and the corner was taken from the right of goal); the lino then put the flag across his chest, I didn't see what happened in the box though.
