https://www.tickets.london2012.com/member/registrationGet registered if you are interested..think if you are registered you get entered into the ticket ballott..if you are lucky in the ballott you get to buy some tickets. Not really into athletics etc but we wont see another olympics in our lifetime in the UK. Wont guarantee you tickets but at least you will know the details of when they are on sale.

Incidentally...
Olympic losses:
Montreal, 1976: >$1 billion Calgary, 1988: $910 million Barcelona, 1992: $1.4 billion Sydney, 2000: £2-3 billion
"Taxpayers are legally responsible for any debt left over from the Games (IOC Charter Rule 42)"
It's a tax payer rip off. It only makes money for developers and vested interests. My children are going to have to pay for 2012 for the rest of their lives.

A £3 billion loss / cost works out at £50 per person in the UK. Not exactly going to break the bank is it. Plus the French were really pissed off when we won the vote for 2012, so its worth every single penny.

Can't argue with that. I'd happily pay more than 50 quid just to piss the French off.

Another £3 billion on the national debt with all of the associated interest compounded over decades. You seem to have forgotten that it is on top of the £941 billion that is currently outstanding, with £43 billion a year due in interest. That's £12,000 a year in interest for every household in the country, paid for with our taxes. http://www.debtbombshell.com/Ah, just another £3 billion to add then. Well why not? Madness.

Just for comparison, what were the losses incurred in 1980, 1984, 1996, 2004 and 2008? You seem to have missed those. Dare I say because they might not support your point and may perhaps average the figures out to an insignificant mean loss or even a net profit?
