Not sure if anyone else saw it but there are plans afoot to remake Escape To Victory, the driving force behind it is Vinnie Jones with Beckham being lined up to play the Bobby Moore role. Not sure its a good idea myself, it will no doubt lose the charm (ie shit acting) of the original which is half the fun. Even worse is they will no doubt give it a USA basis rather than English which will fuck it up even more.
What about the Allied players? They'll need a good few current players to cover the game and original roles: - Van De Sar - he's got that sultry look going on and a Man Utd player getting his arm broken will go down well - Ronaldo - on the condition the fucker gets shot dead - Carlos Tevez - he normally looks like a pow so make up won't take long - Mourinho (coach) - got to be hasn't it?
Any other player suggestions?

That's a good call - he can make a blatant dive for a penalty.

Maybe they could get Rory Fallon in to re-enact the Pele overhead kick.

If they're going to do a film about a football related subject, why not 'the Charlie Austin Story'. Pretty unbelievable when you think about it - young lad makes the grade from small club to league football & becomes the season' scoring sensation!
Only problem is that if the rebellious colonists on the wrong side of the pond put up the money then it'll be transferred into that bloody awful grid iron stuff & our Charlie will become some dumbcluck yank wearing body armour & running into the opposition.
