At this moment in time I don't thin things could be better. All the more reason to enjoy them as success is as transient as failure!

- Cheap season tickets (check)
- Chance of promotion (check)
- Team seeming to give a fuck and want it (check)
- Stability behind the scenes (check)

The only thing missing is the CG atmosphere (though it does seem to be improving slightly)  and some more bums on seats to reward a fine season. These things take time I suppose.

I do not think they could possibly be doing a better job and there is fuck all to moan about right now. The twats who have booed some of the players or substitutions or whatever at various times this season (like yesterday for example) should be doused in petrol and set alight.

I think attendances will get better over time. I think the recession has hit us hard, especially after the Malpas reign.

The Board are getting most things right there are a few things which they could do better which bear smaller significance in the grand scheme of things.

When Danny Wilson came in he stated that he didn't go along with the notion of a 'Maurice Malpas side', he felt that it was a pointless excuse an incoming manager can use to give him extra time.

However, the difference between 2008/09 and 2009/10 is considerable.

Improvements to players: Jon-Paul McGovern, Kevin Amankwaah, Phil Smith, Mark Marshall. Getting more goals from Billy Paynter is more than significant too.

Players Swindon Town couldn't attract pre-Wilson: Jonathan Douglas, Scott Cuthbert, Gordon Greer plus unearthing Charlie Austin from Non-League.

Getting rid of the deadwood or players that really needed to move on if we wanted to improve: Is was a big risk letting so many players go but it was essential: Pook, Brezovan, Peacock, Casal, Kanyuka, Sturrock, Nalis, McNamee...

Useful loan deals that outweigh the duds: Hal Robson-Kanu, Owain Tudur Jones, Alan Sheehan, Stephen Darby, Simon Ferry, Danny Ward. Even Tope Obadeyi and Alex Revell played their part.

This is all stuff TEF'ers know.

Can improvements be made? Of course. However, after what Town fans have gone through in the last 10-15 years it is baffling that some of our 'faithful' to boo a Swindon side who are clearly trying their best to secure a chance of promotion.

This image sums it up for me... Even Grant Holt is celebrating our progress.

Kanyuka rejected his contract offer and Nalis retired, but probably due to the fact that a football league team wouldn't have given him a contract.

Am I right in saying that Kanyuka turned up for pre-season though?

Pretty certain he did and they told him to fuck off as he wasn't insured.
