Maybe I'm just imagining this but one thing I keep seeing this season (across all English football) is what appears to be frequent handballs by keepers that go unnoticed by everyone else. What I'm talking about is when keepers go to the edge of their area and roll / throw the ball to a player, they seem to get far too close to the edge and by the time the ball is finally released it is outside the area. Which I'm pretty certain is handball.

Anyone else seen it? I'm sure I saw Smith do it today.

i expect a lot of goalkeepers step outside their area when releasing the ball for a kick as well, technically that's a handball.

oh and some players probably step over the touchline when taking throw ins.

not sure that players are always exactly ten yards at free kicks either.

If the ball is released inside the area (which means all the ball has to cross the outer edge of the line of the  penalty box to be outside the area) when contact is made with the foot outside the area then there is no handball.  The discriminator is where the ball was contacted by the hand, not where the feet or the rest of the body are located.
