we have a physio and we have a fitness expert. Neither can legislate for injuries caused by fatigue - as a result of the same XI playing every week.
This thread is pointless.
Some players will be back for Leeds, others Norwich, others will take longer. That's why you have a squad, and a loan market.
Didn't hear too many people complaining in Feb or before, when we had very few injuries.

That's sort of my point, I think he isn't qualified but I don't think it's any different to most other teams - when it's serious enough, outside help is sought. I don't think it puts us at a disadvantage but there was a marked improvement at the time Wise arrived in general fitness (stamina, work rate etc) as far as I could see from watching games. I haven't seen that dip away.
I suppose there may be room for improvement, but it's down to budgets - do we get enough improvement to outweigh the cost.

if a player has an injury Dick can't deal with, then they get referred to a specialist, by Dick, which is how most clubs do things.

Mackey's been here for what, the best part of 18 years? Qualified by experience no doubt.
Aside from O'Brien (who is a crock), which player has had a recurring injury this season? What exactly are we trying to blame the club physio for?

The same Kevin that got injured came back for a game and is injured again What about Pericard that surely counts as a recurring injury..makes 2 or 3 appearances and get's injured again

This is what I have heard about Dick Mackey is that there is very little middle ground with him, he either deals with the minor knocks and strains or defers the player to a specialist or for a scan at the Ridgeway, if a player went for an MRI scan it would cost £500-600 a time. I was also told by a private practitioner that previous players didn't trust DM and sought private treatment. A decent physio would be able to diagnose an injury, decide on remedial treatment and then refer to a specialist if there wasn't progression. I just believe that as club if we are looking to progress then maybe this is an area we need to invest in, the job clubs are tempting physios, sports scientists etc away from other sports e.g athletics, rugby etc. We have invested in other areas of the club so this might be an area to look at and keep DM in a supporting role if needed.

Which is where I was headed until I got shouted down with "Our Dick is Solid"(TM). I completely agree, OM.

this all seems like a bit of a knee jerk reaction if you ask me. injuries happen in football and by sheer coincidence we've got a few at the same time...
