Last game of the season at Millwall could be very interesting if the current league positions are maintained. Can you imagine what it would be like at The New Den if both of us still have a chance of automatic.

I reckon Leeds away next week is going to be tough, there has got to be some reaction from them soon and can we maintain a run of 3 straight away wins, that would be difficult. A point at Leeds would be great and think our eye brow raising away win this season was the Southampton result.

Based on the best points tally of the last 7 seasons 88 points would guarantee auto promotion and the average is 84 points. Our points per game record this season would bring us to 84/5 points and last 6 games form would take us to 83. I just pray that the dropped points from late goals doesn't come back to haunt us but then three straight 1-0 away wins shows the resolve is there and the Norwich game clawed some of that back.

I do think our mentality is different than say Leeds, if we make the play offs we'll think job done whereas Leeds will be thinking 'oh god, here we go again'. As supporters we've had some great times in the play offs to a better equipped on that front to deal with them as well. Think we are almost there on getting into the play offs and it's just whether we can really go for it and are prepared to make the big push for auto. Gonna be fun though

my lad just asked me if i want second or the play offs.
i'd take the play offs if we could guarantee the win.but it's a cup competition if we finish in that zone really.
if we can get auto, then we have to try and achieve that.

I want auto more than anything now but not sure if we can do it with having to play Leeds, Colchester & Millwall away, I hate the playoffs but then again we usually do well in the playoffs, Wilson seems to be cursed in the playoffs judging by his City days, Hopefully he can get rid of that curse this time around if we are in the playoffs.

I'm just worried about what might happen if we don't go up this season, We will be as good next season and challenge for the title or automatic or will we just languish around mid table?

To keep players like Sheehan, Ward & Ferry we do really need to go up this season.

There is a damn site more pressure on leeds as their fan's expect them to win and expect them to take automatic next week there will be huge pressure on them in front of their fan's with their form at the moment, we can almost use that to our advantage, by keeping it tight and not giving them many chances and their fan's will be on their back.

The way it is going it looks like it may end up tight between us and Millwall and whoever drops points between now and when we play each other may just regret it, let's hope it is all wrapped up by the time we play them although I think we have shown this season we can play with pressure.

Who would have thought that at this time last season we would have a chance of 2nd place at this stage of this season, it shows how far we have come and how well Danny Wilson has galvanised a team together, I think certain players like Greer, Lucas & Douglas have been a huge difference with the experience they have and the calmness that they bring to the team.

Crazy to think that that goal at The Valley where Charlton had 9 men is what sees us in 4th as opposed to 2nd. 3 more wins would get us in the play-offs. Huddersfield are 8 behind so they'd need to win 6 of their last 8 games and we'd also be looking at others to win as well. We're in a great position and 2nd has to be the target now.

The flip side of that is that its totally in our control. If we win the last 8 then we're promoted. If we can go to Leeds and Millwall and do damage and match their other results then we're probably up.
Its great being Town at the moment.

We're not going to win all 8. It just won't happen. However, the same will be true for Millwall and Leeds. It's a cliché but we just need to take each game as it comes and see what happens around us as we go.

All 4 home games should be ones we look to win.  The Wycombe game is very winnable, that's 5 possible wins putting us at 85 points - that would certainly make things intersting.

Fuck me there's a lot of chicken counters! Think I won't bother with the rest of the season as we're as good as up... Oh wait, it's still fucking March.

Oh wait, nobody has said we're as good as up. Hence the thread being about possibly 8 more points needed for playoffs.

I think some people are just getting very excited that we still have a chance of auto promotion. No wonder, this is the best season we've had in years.

And it is our hands to win, if we blow the chance of automatic (and it is on our hands having to play both Millwall and Leeds) then we should end up with the consolation prize of play-offs and a possible trip to Wembley, not bad for the second favourites at the start of the season for relegation.

I just hope other teams carrying on not rating us as a threat, we are coming up on there right hand shoulder, heres hoping they keep looking to the left.

Regarding points, I have refrained from guessing the score each week, and I certainly dont want to put the mockers on guessing how many points at this stage of the season. Just take every game as it comes and fingers crossed.
