Narrowly missed my mates head as it flew through and landed right by us, which meant we had a grandstand view of the Orient Steward's comical attempts to put it out which involved stamping on it, small cups of water from a vending machine and what looked like a cup of tea!
All in all, more entertaining than events on the pitch.
The comments on the Orient forum made me laugh, it sounded like they formed a chain to pass a bucket of sand along to the fire which finally arrived 15 minutes after the final whistle.

I was right behind the muppet that lit that thing and he was being a twat all game and was probably 16 or 17 and completely wasted. I'm abit pissed off as I'm in that picture on the Orient site right next to the flare so they best not try stitching me up.

If it's the guy I think it is he sits behind me in the Town End. I like him! He's young and a bit of a retard but he's always up for a laugh and he gets behind the team vocally.
I hope he doesn't get banned or anything too silly.

Ah so it was one of those lads. 'Young and a bit of a retard' is a pretty good summary.

Rightly or wrongly, from the statement on Orient's website about the Swindon Directors wanting the guy's details, he's likely looking at a ban.

Clubs come down hard on this sort of thing i'm afraid. The lad probably thought it would be a laugh without thinking about the consequences.
It would be a shame for him to be banned and not able to watch Town anymore.

i am 'one of those' lads. Hope he dont get banned for too long, i didnt go, so just going by what i heard.. Fair enough it was stupid to light and throw it in a wooden stand, but it made the atmosphere better... He will get a ban, hopefully not for long though, we need more fans at the cg not less..

He did something stupid and needs to realise it, but as others have said it seems like it was a lack of thought rather than anything more serious, so hopefully it'll be dealt with fairly rather than being overly harsh.

Insane lighting & throwing a flare, aside from the wooden stand, the potential consequences to fans..... in Germany @ Nurnenburg game on saturday 5 fans seriously injured by "fans" throwing flares & fireworks.

What were they injured by though, flares or fireworks?
