Potential value: £8million

I'd probably accept that!

Current value £1.5m - as much as Coxy already.

Keep banging them in Charlie Boy.

He's not worth the same right now, but he could be worth a lot more in the future even if not with us.  He's got that rare ability of being a natural in the box which goes much further than footballing talent.

Cox went for 1.9m so more than 1.5m

Transfer value these days is usually determind by lenght of contract.

Cox had a year left when we sold him. Austin has what another 2 and a half? years

i think if he was to go we would get our moneys worth. cox could have gone for under a million but we got 1.9m so it was a good deal for a league 1 team.

Austin is a far better player now than Cox was when he first came here, and in a lot less league games as well. He's shown he can score with his head and can create opportunities rather than relying on tap ins, though it would be nice to see him scoring some from outside the area.

Its not just about what a players really worth though, its what we'd sell them for. During the transfer window I reckon a £1m offer would have been needed to tempt Fitton to sell. If he carries on scoring at a similar rate and hits 25 goals then I reckon that would go up to £2m in the summer - the long contract means no rush to sell and he could easily lead us to promotion which would be worth a lot of money.

Would anyone pay £2m in the summer? Maybe not, but there are always clubs lining up to pay big money for strikers - especially if they're score close to a goal a game. Let's not forget how good Austin is already, whilst he's a goal machine there is a lot more to his game than that - winning another good header to set up the 2nd against Huddersfield for example.

Austin has the knack of just being in the right place at the right time, his only down side is after an hour he looks fucked, give him a year to get the fitness up to scratch and if he keeps his goal ratio anywhere near what it is now i'm sure he will go for more than Coxy.
