Mr Modesty lets his gloves do the talking

DAVID Lucas is a modest kind of guy. Down to earth, instantly likeable, and with a refreshing attitude towards the sport that isn’t always evident in today’s egotistical game.

You have to say, if Smith had let that first goal in we wouldn't hear the end of it. The highlights show some impressive stops after that though, and it sounds like he had a cracking game so fair play.

He was superb. We couldn't work out what happened at the time, and even Lucas expected a cross, still not sure now if it was intended or a slice!

i think ferry should have done better on the byline before the shot even happened so i think this is just him taking pressure of a younger player. which is a good thing

There have been far many more he shouldn't have saved but did than there have the other way round. The one against Leyton Orient when he made a double saved was jaw dropping!
