  TOWN midfielder Jon-Paul McGovern has hailed unsung hero Peter Shirtliff for helping transform his County Ground career.

Shirtliff looks like he could make the step up from cone gatherer to manager again in the future.

Looking at his time at Mansfield he did exceptionally well in shocking circumstances and looks very unlucky to have been sacked.  Since then were ever he's gone to as cone gatherer he's made a positive difference and noticeable contribution.

He certainly appears to be complementing Wilson’s style.
