interviewed his folks for Tuesday's programme, really nice people. His grandad says he finds it quite emotional when charlie's name is called out after he's scored cos he's been watching town for years.

Expectations BR - we now expect him to score at least once every game.  All players have quiet days.

I expected him to score two today to get his average back on track.

Ah well, three on Tuesday instead then  Grin

Hes worked hard...got himself a juicy contract..its now the hard work REALLY begins for him.
Yesterday the Charlton players were in his face..niggly little elbows and pushes in the back...it was getting to him...he is now a marked man.
Hes got to take that next step now and become a true profesional...look at Billy early in the season...he looked terrible and the fans were on his back....he got his head down and worked darned hard...this is what Charlie will have to learn now...hes been brilliant and he really could go all the way....lets hope he does.

Not saying it'll happen, but if Pericard's fit for Tuesday I can see him starting.

Don't know about Pericard starting, but if he'd been on the bench yesterday I reckon he could have been put on at half time. Whose place would he take though? From the few minutes I've seen of him he could play with Austin or Paynter - kind of a cross of the two.

No, he didnt.

I think you're memory is going. Paynter was dropped for 5 games running, after Revell joined us on loan and before Austin signed. I can't remember him being injured and he wasn't suspended - he was dropped due to form. His form wasn't bad at the start of the season but it wasn't as good as its been since Austin has been starting.

He got dropped yes, that doesnt mean he was terrible.

I didnt at the time and still dont know why Wilson dropped him. Poor results for those 4 games as well.

In Wilsons words, he was dropped because he was "Absolutely knackered"

He didn't start a game in a month, was he really that knackered?

It's just a shame more clubs don't look closer to home rather than just accepting cheap foreign imports

yeah, our squad is full of cheap foreign imports...
