The problem is here that they use tomato as a fruit and not as a vegetable like we do. The week I arrived here I went to a restaurant and ordered a meat pizza, they misunderstood me and delivered a fruit pizza with a tomato sauce on the base and cheese on top. |

nothing wrong with a bit of jam in a cheese and ham sandwich if you need something fruity there's no chutney or pickle or cranberry about.
that said, my german dad (host family) looks at me funny if i put anything other than meat in between two slices of rye.

Very true. When I stayed in Germany it was meat for breakfast, lunch and dinner! |
