Morning all, Bolton fan in peace here.

What's your guys views on Danny Ward?

Any good for the future, he's done well for our reserves, and got a chance in a few games early this season.

I'll not bother asking about Tope, had hear he wasn't one of your favourites  Cheesy

Oh and great result last night, nothing better than seeing Dirty Leeds get turned over having had to live there for 4 years....

Cheers

Ward is getting better and better each game. Played out of his skin last night, performance well beyond his years. And nice to see loan players who give it their all despite in not being "their" club (Ferry as well comes into this category) - he should have a great future

Tope wasnt terrible.  All pace and tricks but no end product.  Often fooled himself with his speend and tricky.

Danny is a deiferent matter.  We're playing him on the left wing and he's excelling himself.   Fast, good use of the ball and good shot on him as well.

Im sure we'd be happy to take him off of your hands!

He's also a lot more willing to track back and cover the full back than Tope (or McNadwarf)

Thought he had a fine game last night, only criticism was that he didn't push up on their full back when the front two were pressing, giving them an easy outlet on occasions - might have been told to lay back though.

Tope was like a poor mans Faustino Asprilla on a good day, and a poor mans Paolo Wanchope on a bad day. He's OK, but I cant see much comming of him.

After the other loans we have had from Bolton I was starting to wonder if your youth set up was a massive waste of money. But this lad Ward has got it. He battles hard, good shot. Still looks like a surfer though.

Superb effort last night. He has improved each game and would it be quality for us to have him for the rest of the season. I think he has also highlighted how over rated Macnamee was, and that there are goals to come from him should we be able to keep him.

I think we can only have him for 1 more month as he has already been here 2 months and it cannot be extended into a until end of season type loan

Firstly, I dont think Tope was bad as most people made out.

HOWEVER

the clear and main difference between topi and Danny Ward is their brain.

Topi is an athlete Bolton are trying to coach into a footballer. Ward is a footballer Bolton are trying to coach into a better footballer.

Topi would get the ball and run at defenders, he'd look dangerous doing it but as a fan you never knew what he was going to do, the defenders never did and I dont think he did most of the time either.

Ward reads the game really well, he makes better runs off the ball, he is more aware of whats around him. He does the basics very well. His positional sense is good and so is his tracking back.

I guess having had McNamee on our left for so long, its something us fans really notice right now.

His ball retention is good, looks comfortable on the ball, solid when defending and dangerous in attack.

Cant we just let his 2nd months loan expire, then sign him up on a season long loan?

Didn't realise he was only 18. I think I have socks older than him. Probably.

Anyway its all been said really, he's doing the business. And the fact he's playing out of position whilst doing it is all the more impressive..

Morning all, Bolton fan in peace here.

Can't you be an aggressive Bolton fan. Then I could ask you to twat Gartside for his silly views on league structure and also kick waaaanker John McGuinley in the nuts Smiley
