Defoe misses a penalty in the 9th minute. Poor effort, good save.

According to the FA's disciplinary procdures 08/09 the suspension is immediate, until the club has completed their next match (or however many matches the ban is for). I presume the 09/10 ruling is the same but can't find it online.
