To try and avoid going to bed and therefore work in the morning, I'd like to stimulate a thread considering those players who were, inexplicably, ignored by their national team.  As I've started the thread, I can start with the obvious: Steve Bruce.

Mikel Arteta is a pretty good one.

Don't think Di Canio ever played for Italy either.

Don Rogers, Steve Bruce, Paolo Di Canio are all good shouts.

I will add Billy Bonds.

The problem being that unless he got a suck of his mummy's tits each evening he would cry.

If your from Oxford and you get home sick in London there really is something seriously wrong.  Oh, unless your five years old

So you are not disputing the fact that he's the best English left winger of the past 20 years?

From the present crop I would say Lennon is better (but he has been capped) - wingers have been a bit of dying breed in last 20 years. Beauchamp did have quality moments but his career at the top was pretty short in professional terms and his mentality, well what more can you say.

Kevin Campbell has scored more goals in the Premier League than any other uncapped player.

But then, Ian Wright struggled to get in the team so its no suprise that Campbell never got picked.
