Its basically a business networking thing - profile is business related and you can build connections across clients, partners etc.

I use it a lot, The business i'm in people move around companies a lot, so its good for keeping up with where they are, only downside is i keep getting agencies and headhunters trying to get me to move companies ( which would be good if i was thinking of swapping though)

Its really handy isn't it.  I was really curious how many on here used it as a lot of my friends (non work) don't really bother with it and I think its good too!

10000? If that's the case you are being spammed, you only hookup/accept people you know very well workwise. I've only got around 50 contacts.

I tend to swap contact details/business cards with most people I need to. I'm probably being a stickler, but aside from the odd occassion when it has been useful to keep in touch with people, facebook's actually a huge waste of time (and I'm spending an awful lot of time on there recently).

Social networking is purely designed to make people money. I really doubt any other sites would be of benefit to me.

I haven't got many contacts at the moment, signed up a while back and then forgot about it as didn't have time to do the whole profile but now, I'm getting into it and its interesting!

Its nice to keep work stuff separate to other social networking too....ie I can add ppl on there I would never dream of adding to Facebook

Cant comment on facebook never used it, never will from what i've heard. Linkedin is basically an electronic repository for business cards. Works for me as most business cards i have are out of date, or have coffee rings over them.

Precisely the reason I've never signed up.  I know too many people who tell it's taken over their lives.  As it is, I spend more of my time than I would like peering at a computer screen...so wouldn't want to exacerbate the problem.

I was probably exagerating a tad! Wink

I'm on it. It's been reasonably useful in job hunting so far by keeping in contact with ex-colleagues.
