AN ex-mayor today admitted breaking into women's homes and stealing their underwear.
Ian Stafford, 59, resigned as Mayor of Preesall in Lancashire when he was arrested in connection with the thefts.
His victims called the cops after their underwear kept disappearing.
One woman even installed a hidden camera in her bedroom to catch him out.
He appeared at Preston Crown Court today where he pleaded guilty to three counts of burglary.
The part-time handyman and gardener was released on bail, but was warned he could face jail for his crimes.
Stafford, of Preesall, walked into court with a cane.
He confessed breaking into the buildings in Poulton-le-Fylde and Stalmine, Lancashire, between January 1 and 26 June last year.
The case has been adjourned until February 5.
His barrister Richard Haworth said he had no previous convictions.
Judge Philip Sycamore gave Stafford bail but told him not to "draw any conclusions" from that about his sentence.
He added: "All sentencing options are open."
