So with the arrival on the scene who is Swindon's best ever Charlie?. Charlie Austin with 5 goals in 5 starts and the potential to be a real goal scoring hero leading us up the table and divisions. Or Charlie Henry, another local lad done good and a versatile player who ended up top scorer in Lou Macari's 1985/6 Div 4 Championship winning team and who scored a vital equalising goal against Gillingham in the 1986/7 play off final?.

For me it's still Charlie Henry but let's hope that Charlie Austin continues like he does and seals his place in Swindon history. Discuss....

What arriba said. The use of the word "potential" sums up exactly how much of a non-debate this is.

I'd have Charlie Banister in with a shout myself....had 2 spells at the club and captained the side in the 1910 FA Cup semi. 225 appearances when we were a decent SL side.

Think you can rule out messers Griffin and Comyn-Platt.

Not sure about...Done, Dowdall, Jeffries, Whiteside, Williams, Turner, Smithson, Petrie Thompson, McEleny, Selwood or Wallis.

Charlie Henry. That exorcet of a strike, deep in injury time vs. Gills was the stuff dreams are made of.
