Fucking great result today! Austin seems fucking ace.

Did Ward come on today?

Sign Austin on a long term deal now!

Yes Ward came on for about 5 mins so couldn't really judge.

That was great fun today, with all 3 stands in danger of singing at the same time.

Douglas is immense - he seems to be everywhere without having to hurry too much.

Austin really impressed again today - his positioning is great, rarely caught offside, and has a knack of holding up the ball.

I tried my hardest to get them singing in the Arkells and quite a few joined in, if we can only play like we did in the last 25 minutes for the whole game we are going to give someone a battering. As for Charlie he is a natural goal scorer we spoke to his dad after the Huddersfield game and he cant believe how well it is going for him made up for the lad.

Cheers. You never know he could turn out well but he wont get a shout with Paynter and Charlie playing so well.

Fantastic game today - I can't remember us passing the ball about like that since the days of Hoddle and Ardiles.

Shame about the 2 goals conceeded - the first was a reasonable free-kick that bounced at Lucas' feet.  Yes he should have had it, but I think he's been quality all season so i'll let him off that one.  As for the 2nd, where did that come from!

It's interesting to see some of the comments on the L.O. site.  While I can't remember the incident leading up to the penalty, lets not forget the clear handball 3 mins later, and that Paynter was hauled to the ground in the first half inside the 6 yard box, and god only knows why it wasn't given.
The sending off was bang-on.  Yes, there were a couple of defenders closing in, but at the time of the foul Austin was clean through on goal and it was "an obvious goal scoring opportunity" so he had to make like a breakfast cerial and cheerio!

I can't see what L.O. fans have to complain about - don't forget, we hit the woodwork a couple of times and the keeper clawed one out that had goal all over it, so I think we were good value for the points.

Happy days!

I think Austin could turn into a latter day Chalkie. He's a true goal poacher who chases absolutely everything and doesn't give the defenders a minute's rest. He's got to hitch his shorts up a bit, sharpen his elbows, get caught offside a bit more and learn to rip the piss out of everyone and he's there.

I'm still amazed by how good Austin is in the air, he wins most of the headers he goes up for including ones he has no right to win. The same for his touch and control, he keeps it simple most of the time but seldom makes a mistake and has made some excellent turns and moves.

I'm not sure about his movement off the ball - he was running in to some stupid positions today, but having said that he was in the right place to score a couple. No sign yet of whether he's good in the air in the box, or what his long range shooting is like.

He obviously still needs time, but he seems a far better player than Cox was after a similar number of games.

If he turns out a lot better than Cox then we are in for one hell of a player

Apart from the freekick I wasn't impressed with Sheehan. He seemed to spend the whole game as a floating central midfielder rather than offering any width at all.Tthe bench seemed hapy with this and Orient don't seem to use their right side at all but he did look very much like a fullback out of position.

He is awesome and if you arent in the Charlie Austin Appreication Society on Facebook you suck!

If I had to liken him to a proven premiership striker, I'd say he was more of a Robbie Fowlers. Works hard outside the box, deadly in the box. He is exactly where you want him every time.

Hmm, yeah, he is very much like Robbie Fowler. And i am in the fan club so there. Smiley

It is strange how people see things differently, I cant remember him putting a pass a stray and did every thing simple very much in the Douglas mould. He is never going to be a replacement for Mcnamee but on the flip side we looked far more solid down the left then we did down the right. Overall I thought he had a pretty decent game and hope we can make it permanent come January.

He didn't really do anything wrong and had double the impact McNamee had this season! Must have been at a different game to me, guess football is all about opinions though.
