Ice-cream?
Yeah, that'd be like pancakes... Reg, as for wine choice with duck, i'd always opt for a red... don't know what variety though.

Yesterday...I had roast duck. Had a lengthy debate about whether red or white should be the accompanying wine....finally settled for white. Is this controversial TEF wine buffs?
Reg, for me it's what you like, not what others think you should have, but there's usually logic behind the experts' views. I'd say a crisp dry white would cut through the fatty richness of the duck quite well. Wouldn't fancy a heavy red or oaked white with duck. Each to their own I say. And concerning roasts, Medium rare beef, then lamb, then pork, then chicken. Yorkshire pudding with all, mint sauce only with lamb (Sussex)

Mint sauce goes with all (my) roasts neville. It's an extension of the gravy family.

That's what I decided in the end...very good it was too.

Roast beef was superb. I'm feeling rather full. Chilling out with a bottle or two of red. Taking it a bit easy though as have to get up tomorrow.

I've got wild venison for the roast today.
All the tastiness of rare roast beef with really low levels of fat and cholesterol.
Seconded. My missus makes the best roasties and yorkies going.

I used to hate red wine, however since I have matured I would say red wine is the bees knees! Apparently you never get a bad Corbieres however Rioja is my favourite wine of all time!!

I knew this would start a hornet's nest of controversy.. I ended the night drinking a curious mixture of beer/lager/red wine...I hate to see drink wasted and as the lightweight birds I was with had reached their limits, I polished off the leftovers....wasn't bad at all

Red wine is my drink of choice at home usually. I love a good Merlot or Rioja. Although tonight i'm drinking a Shiraz unfortunately named Oxford Landing. It was on offer in the Co-op and is a nice drop
