Just reading that NME top 50 thread has prompted my OCD.
Should words like 'and', 'the' and 'of' be capitalised in song titles?
My OCD (and the many hours spent correcting my iTunes library) says yes.

I too have OCD regarding my itunes library, Sam, and yes -EVERY word in the song name needs to begin with a capital letter, no matter how small!!

'and' and 'the' are the only words that don't need caps in my opinion

this. But otherwise generally no. Only at the start of the song title. Same goes with Book and Film titles. For example: "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe."

Don't worry Dave, you're not alone. I've just spent about 2 hours scrutinising my library and changing anything that's not right.

The album covers pissed me off so much I just got rid of the lot.
I've had a quick look through and out of over 4,000 songs each word of each song title is captial.

Isn't this like going through a book and putting extra apostrophes in wrong places?

Hahah! I do this too! Although recently i've found that 'Of' looks a bit silly with a capital.....But seein as the others have a capital, this one must do as well
