When Swindon lose, I do find my interest in any football somewhat diminished for a couple of days.
i just love watching premiership games on a sunday, yet if it was 2 teams from our league i prob wouldnt watch it

i love premiership football wether swindon win, lose or draw
"wether" is a word that has caught me out from time to time. Did you know that a wether is actually a castrated sheep or goat? We'll now you do know and so you can get back to match of the day feeling just a little more knowledgeable.

Wether is more applied to any sheep in general especially in the West Country. Hence in just about my favourite bit of Wiltshire....around Fyfield Down, you get the Grey Wethers...stones which look a bit like sheep, especially from a distance. I'm a big fan of sarsen stones. Back in the relatively recent past, they'd have been much more numerous, but there are still a few places where they're an impressive sight, and you still can find random blocks around Swindon, although it's difficult to know if they've been moved from somewhere else. Reg, those ARE sheep.
In the foreground are Grey Wethers, in the background by way of contrast are Welshmen's fantasy.

How do Welsh men find their sheep in very long grass?
Very satisfying.

On a hugely related note, there are some greywethers in lakeside and a road named after them.

Cardiff vs Forest is on BBC Two now by the way, just starting, I normally always miss these random spatterings of live football but happened to see this in the guide.

I think the wind is going to play a big part in the set pieces, it's very gusty here.

I just checked how many live football matches we get at present, this week there is a staggering 34 live matches and that doesn't include any multi-screen, as live coverage or club specific channels (you can double the number if you did include them). That's practically 5 matches a day, I remember when we got 1 a week if we were lucky.
