Suprised he got the bullet after getting back to winning ways

Rumours are that Strachan has been lined up, but 'Boro have a reputation for taking a risk with managers so I wonder if it will be someone who is new to managment like Robson & Southgate were

Can't see Southgate getting another managers job anytime soon though

Most likely the decision was taken after they lost to Watford at the weekend, but they didn't want to cause disruption by actually carrying it out immediately with another game so soon after. So he would have been sacked last night whatever the result.

I'm surprised by the timing of his dismissal, should really have happened at the end of last season, they are one point off top spot.

Coppell must be on the short list.

Curbishley?Huh? Southgate 1 point off the top 4th in the Championship and is sacked? bizarre indeed.

But Southgate has been upopular for a while and attendances have been dropping also, they are 10,000 down on last season so I suppose that income has something to do with it as well.

Apparently the decision was taken 2 weeks ago, bizzare that they have only just sacked him, makes you think they was lining up his replacement while he was still in situ which is a bit naughty

Looks like Strachan will be taking over at Boro.

Strange sacking, he was doing alright, considering he lost his 3 best players, Downing, Tuncay and Huth.

Mainly because he looks like the sort of bloke who would cover you in spit.

Lets face it, Strachan will have them top half of the Premier League in no time.
