Never been to France and would never go, but what with the poor euro rate I would avoid europe. The further east you go the cheaper it gets I find.

Disneyland Paris?Huh? that would be possibly the most random stag do ever??

Agreed though Dublin is deeply ace but deeply expensive - was it your first time there?

I once went on a stag weekend to Reims.  Spent the day getting trashed on cheap champagne and the evenings getting trashed on beer.  All of which means I remember very little about Reims.  Sorry.

Much as I love the place.....i wouldn't be considering France for a stag weekend.  They're just not cultural enough to have properly grasped binge drinking yet.

Many's the time I've wandered through some gorgeous town or other, admired the bars, the street life, the.....only to find it all shut up come beer o'clock.

Lille is as good a shout as anywhere (in that it is pretty, easily accessible and lively), because it's practically Belgian.  But not cheap.

Have you considered anywhere in Germany or Holland, for example, where the natives might be a little more like-minded, if you like that sort of thing?

Some of my best ever binges have been in france, small one or two bar villages are best, they are normally delighted that they get tourists, and in my experience stay open until you've drunk everything.

This has to be the only time anyone has ever used the phrase "practically Belgian" as a recommendation Smiley

In fact Belgium would probably be better for a drinking weekend, but I know what pauld means

Went to Paris for my honey moon in 1981. Awful experience & was confirmed on a vist 10 years later. Why would any one go to france when Spain is warmer, cheaper & friendlier. ? Even the illegal immigrants can't wait to get out of france.

Northen France is indeed the pits.

The South however is brilliant. Weather is great, some great towns and cities and really friendly locals (Apart from Marseilles).
