Toast has to be hot with no visible trace of unmelted butter. I often butter the toast and then whack it back in the toaster for a couple of seconds to blitz off the last bit of unmelted butter.

Utter lunacy.

Toast should be served still hot with butter melting into it AND with butter that has not yet melted still on the surface. Anything else is a waste of bread.

I agree with JFW and Leefer. If i'm not in the mood for the full attendance toasting involved with a grill, I make my toast very slowly in a toaster. Lowest setting, let it get cold. Lowest setting, let it get cold... and keep repeating until it's a nice golden brown. It then goes like French toast and is sexual with Marmite. But it does take 15-20 minutes! Smiley

Oh and i'm with yoof, Kitkat Chunky Caramels are fucking ace. I used to have to buy 2 at a time until i realised i was eating shit loads of chocolate.

I'll join you in the cold toast brigade - hate it with melted butter.
I have been known to wave my toast around in the kitchen, when I'm too hungry to wait for it to cool down!!

Crumpets on the other hand, have to be hot.

I am sure that there are labour intensive re-education camps for people like some of you.
