Just heard Tranmere have sacked John Barnes - surely they could have waited until after 31st Oct so we could have got our easy 3 points!  Roll Eyes

Very well indeed. I'm at home sick so got nothing better to do, than keep up to date on the footy!!

Also, David Connelly (ex Wolves, Feyenoord and ROI) has joined Southampton on a free!! Completely forgotten about that lad.

Barnes doesn't surprise me in the slightest.  Taylor did surprise me but their start has been poor.

I hope the Barnes issue doesn't become a race debate - I do think the lack of black managers in the game is shocking, but in this particular case it is clearly based on nothing more than results.

I don't think it will end up a race debate, just the fact that Barnes is a shit manager and will never be anything more than a pundit and an ambassador for the World Cup 2018.

Some just don't cut it and he's just an unlucky one.

I don't think Barnes can moan about how he's not being offered jobs in the league anymore either!

In fairness, I wouldn't say 11 games into the season is a fair crack of the whip - but to have a GD of -17 by this stage suggests they're doing something fundamentally wrong (i.e. not defending!).

on sky sports news they raised the issue of him ever getting another job considering his record, i did smirk when they pointed out he's been an unprecedented disaster wherever he's gone

Back to doing the footy on ITV for Barnes me thinks.

As for McAteer, can anybody understand that scouser? No wonder they are wallowing at the bottom of the table.

wasn't the barnsley manager (davey?) their physio prior to surprisingly-good-caretaker manager
