What do you think this decade will be remembered for? When I first thought about the first decade of the 21st century drawing to a close I couldn't think of much of note that had happened, apart from the usual war and violence shit that seems to happen every decade.
Has it been as meh as I'm remembering, or is it just my memory is going?

I missed that. Sad maybe, as with all (or most) deaths but tragic?. Tragic to whom apart from Gary Stanley?

I can only remember good sporting achievements, so I'll go for the 2003 Rugby World Cup and the 2005 Ashes.

Fred's descent into alzheimers will be remembered by most except for, ironically, the man himself.

The recession.
It's not likely to be a decade that will be reflected upon as a particularly good era in the future innit.

Probably the rise of Swindon Town under the leadership of DW.
Premiership Champions 2011/12 with the FA Cup following the next season and the Champions League the season after. Selling Macca to Real Madrid for a staggering £150 million the year of the Champion League win. Ronaldo who!!!

9/11 was a pretty big event!! there are few events through history where you can truthfully say i know what I was doing and where i was when it happened.
Liverpool winning the 2005 Champions league against AC Milan for sheer sporting drama

The boxing day Tsunami will probably rank highly, along with 9/11, and the global financial crisis
