I have the buzz back.

Its been missing for a couple of seasons, didnt seem to bother me if I missed a game. Lethargy had set in big time. The combination of really dire teams for the last 4 or 5 seasons had taken it out of me and yes i include the Sturrock/wise  promotion season (we should have never been playing the likes of fucking macclesfield and accrington in the first place)

Im loving the team again. good football, people around me smiling again and lastly winning some fucking games and being at the right end of the table.

I tip my hat to you Mr. Wilson

I was thinking the same thing the other day!  Been a long time since I've felt the urge to head to 2 away games in a week (and for us to come away with 4 points from them both is even better!).

Long may it continue!

On another note - when was the last time we managed 10 league games unbeaten?  Surely that hasn't been done for a few years (Reg??)?  Don't think we managed it in League 2 did we?

The last time we had four consecutive 1-1 draws in a season we got promotion, but I'm not statistitious.

In the play off season, we went 10 unbeaten starting and ending with
15 AUG Colchester United (Away) 1 - 0 Mooney
1 OCT Luton Town (Home) 2 - 2

Later in the season we went 11 unbeaten, starting and ending with
28 DEC Brighton and Hove Albion (Home) 2 - 1 Parkin, Miglioranzi
6 MAR Brentford (Home) 2 - 1 Gurney, Igoe

Our best run in the League Two season was 7 games unbeaten, which we managed twice.

Decided to investigate myself and you're quite right - in fact in our playoff season we had a 10 game unbeaten run near the beginning (before being beaten 2-1 at City) then an 11 game unbeaten run just after Xmas (before losing 2-1 at Plymouth).

I'm finding it a bit difficult still but I think this is because I'm keeping myself busy that I don't have time to think about upcoming matches so much (or at least get excited about them).

Had the buzz at Brentford but this was probably due to the alcohol though Smiley

Our best run in the League Two season was 7 games unbeaten, which we managed twice.

In between those two good runs, we had a bad run of something like 2 wins and maybe a few draws losing 6 or more.  We then tailed off when there was still an outside chance of automatic.

How we cope with the onset of autumn into winter, when the pitches deteriorate, injuries and suspensions kick in will be interesting.  As will the issue of an over dependence on loan players.

All in all, if people have lost the buzz and rekindled it then great, but I've seen too many false dawns, the last two games at the CG haven't convinced me that we're a strong side. Better than the same time last season, but no more.
