Well not sure about that..obviously on the right track..some players were good others well not good...not sure about thew lads on loan from Celtic...Ferry is a good player(missed a sitter though)...cant fathom Timlin on ...Easton was superb at Wolves and should have got a run out.
Footballs all about opinion...cant see Cuthbert being here long cos he is real class.
Dont care how tired Paynter is...should have played....not disastrous and can see Wilson doing good things...but its not guna get those fans back we are missing, for me a point gained rather than two lost.

first game i've seen this season, very impressed. the back four and midfield were solid, greer & cuthbert were like titans and the full-backs were excellent, big kev looks like a new player this season. he's cut out the sloppiness (mostly) and looks full of confidence. lecs is calm and composed and reads the game well but is too relaxed at times.

i've always loathed JP and thought him a useless waste of space. i didn't realise from the posts on here just how much he'd improved - really impressed. douglas and ferry were also very lively. i thought our midfield bossed colchester's, first time i've seen us do that for a long time.

up front was a mixed bag... revell looks good with a footballing brain and not afraid to have a shot. hutchinson is lazy and immobile. obadeyi looks like he blagged his way into pro football, occasionally shows a touch of class/intelligence but for the most part he's absoutely useless.

paytner and macca made an impact when they came on, surprised the change wasn't made earlier.

i thought we could have got the three points but a draw was probably a fair result, despite smith not being challenged much. undefeated at home is a good record to hold onto though.

oh and i missed both goals. faen.

I must admit I must have seen a different game to most. I thought it was a good game between two pretty good sides. I thuoght Col U's front 2 caused chaos in Swindon's defence in the 1st half. both full backs played well but I thought Cuthbert and Greer were pretty poor. Their goal was very reminiscent of early last season. in fact, defensively we were crap the first half. They let the ball bounce instead of attacking it and the ball was allowed to travel a fair way inside the box before anyone thuoght of getting to it. On the plus side, however, we got our bodies in the way when it mattered. We then got a good goal back - good play by Hutchinson and well taken by Toby. Col U on points though in the first half,.
The second half, however, was ours. Great shot be Revell who looked ordinary on the first half but looked really impressive in the 2nd. We also loked better defensively in the 2nd.
I thuoght both full backs, Douglas and JPM played well. Smith was Smith - a bit shaky but made a couple of god saves. Greer and Cuthbert looked ordinary but Colchesters front 2 were a loody handful. Ferry drifted in and out. Hutchinson still looks too raw and Toby is so up and down. These 3 thugoh are young lads so it is to be expected.
Overall, I am really encouraged as this team is getting to know each other and is still growing. I expect Col u to be there or therabouts at the end of the season. .

I am just glad I don't support Colchester - that was real hoofball from them today.

I think we need to concentrate on playing to our own strengths and get the ball down and play it more often.

Pretty much my thoughts on the matter. It was disappointing to see us looking rattled in defence early on, always concerning when a high ball is allowed to bounce like that. Over all though, I'm pleased. So far, Swindon Town look hard to beat (bar the opening day).

I still think Hutchinson is useless and has done pretty much fuck all since we signed him. Obadeyi is looking better and at least looks like he has potential, about time he was given a try up front I reckon. Ferry had another good game, a better option than Timlin at the moment. Revell was ok but nothing more than that.

I don't understand why we didn't start with McNamee and then why he wasn't put on sooner. He had an immediate impact on the game which could easily have led to us getting all three points.

I'm not sure about Wilson's tactics, he started the season with 1 up front as he didn't have any other choice. Yet now we have options up front he seems wary of going to 2 up front as things have been going ok. I reckon Obadeyi alongside Paynter (or Revell) up front with a 4 man midfield is worth a go.

I don't think I've seen a player trip over himself so much since Fola was here.

I think next game Wilson should consider putting Paynter and Revell up front because they're our best strikers.

Relying on match updates from my mate, and sounded good. More of the same please town.

I spent the day watching another STFC, staines town, and was pleasently suprised with the experience. I want us to get relegated to the blue square south

Wrong leefer, it was obviously Smith - the sponsors said so!!!  If you had read that Smith was mom you would have thought we had clung on for a point!! What a ludicrous decision, and I do actually agree with you, JP was my top player, just in front of Cuthbert for me - he is going to be a great signing.  Also I think LJF improves with every game.

LJF..he seems to be very nervous at the start of games..he gt better as the game went on...and he gave 100%...which for me is the be all...fine line football though,if Revells blockbuster had gone in instead of smashing the bar..well we would all be ranting about him.

Does Jonathan Douglas ever talk to the press or radio (which I don't listen to)? I don't think I've heard anything from him since he joined.

Good game I thought against a half decent Colchester side.

The game started a bit poorly for Town, with the game looking a little stretched and Platt causing problems with his physical presence. But after the first 10 minutes town settled and slowly but surely started playing the ball about. With one problem, it was pretty buildup with nothing in the final third to trouble Colchester.

The Colchester goal came out of nothing really. In fact I was feeling so comfortable with our performance I sort of phased out and a blink later their man was through and a late challenge/deflection took the ball past Smith.

We came back well and started to unlock their defence. How JPM's shot didn't go in I don't know. I think the keeper saved it well as it was powerfully hit. Then a quick break and after what seemed an age before Hutch passed and Topi scored.

1-1 was probably a fair reflection of the first half. But there was some very very good last gasp defensive work from Colchester too.

Second half I thought we dominated, almost. Smith had to make a smart save, but we played all the football and had a couple of good chances, the Ferry one being the cleanest cut. When Revell lined up that 40 yarder I was screaming "no no no what the hell are you doing". Then it hit the bar.

So in summary I am quite pleased with the result/performace. We were probably the better team. Definitely played the best football, but Colchester were no mugs and they could have nicked it, a draw was probably about right.

My MOM, difficult one. I think its a toss up between Ferry and Douglas.
